To help believers slow down, pray and have a chance to enjoy the outdoors, far enough away from everyday distractions and to stay open to experience the spirit in unexpected places.
The Lord has put it on our hearts to invite a small group of cowboy church pastors and church leaders on a 5-day pack trip in the mountains of the San Juan National Forest near Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
This pack trip will allow you to eat, sleep, ride, rest, restore, recharge, and fellowship with other pastors.
If you need to ask some of the people who have made this trip, what it meant to them, by all means contact them by email, text or phone. But most of all, you will need to pray and ask God if this is the right thing for you to do.
I was given the opportunity to pack into the mountains a few years back. A friend from our church carried 6 of us men from our church up to Colorado. We camped for the week coming in only once to shower and clean up. This week was much needed and truth is I didn’t know how much until I was there. The trails the mountains running creek and time on a horse in Gods creation that hasn’t been changed much by man was sure special. If you need to get away from you and just be a man with his horse and cool fresh morning afternoon rain shower evening camp fire and friends I encourage the trip. You will find the heaviest thing you packed in wasn't on the mules but on your shoulders. Unpack and enjoy camp.

The past two trips that I have been on have been phenomenal for me. The peacefulness of the mountains is a constant reminder to me of Gods majesty and His personal care in creating everything. The opportunity to have a quiet time without any interruptions is the one thing that I miss the most when we came home. The guys do a great job serving and ministering to those that make the trip. I fully encourage any Pastor, who has an opportunity to go, to prayerfully consider taking advantage of the opportunity to get away and see Gods beautiful creation. Not only will you find the rest you need, you will come home with two brand new lifelong friends.

Every now and then a special moment is presented to you where you just know that it is God. This was the case for my recent trip to the Colorado mountains this last year with the "Luke 5:16 Ministry Team". It was one of the best weeks of my life and it allowed me the time to get completely away from my normal busyness and unplug and enjoy God's creation and to hear his voice and feel his presence. I would highly recommend this journey to any pastor or church leader that is a place in your life where you know that you need to separate yourself and get a recharge.

Last year I was presented with the opportunity to go on a pack trip in the Colorado mountains with Luke 5:16 ministries. Being a full-time pastor, father, husband, and farrier it is hard for me to get away. Am I ever thankful that God ordained this trip for me. I needed it and didn’t even realize it! The men that God called to lead this ministry are truly a blessing. Not only did we get to have quite time in God’s beautiful creation, but I also got to fellowship with pastors and glen from their experiences, and the crew catered to our every need(spiritual and physical). I not only came back refreshed and energized, but also with some lifelong friends. I cannot express how much this trip impacted my life and my ministry.
